What Glam Scout collects
- An account. The app works without signing in; it creates an anonymous account so your favorites and sightings persist.
If you sign in with Apple, Google, or a business email, we store the identifier and email that provider gives us. Nothing else from your profile.
- Sightings you log. The store, the product, price, colors, when you saw it, and a photo if you attach one. Photos are re-encoded
before upload, which removes camera metadata including GPS. Sightings are public by design; that's the point of scouting.
- Searches, coarsely located. When you search with location on, we store the search text with your location rounded to
about a kilometer. This becomes the "searches near you" count a store owner sees. Exact locations are never stored, and search text is
never shown to a store with anything that identifies you.
- Store page views, as a count per store.
- Favorites, tied to your account so they follow you to a new phone.
- Messages you send us through the app, with your device model and app version so we can help.
What Glam Scout does not do
- No advertising, no ad tracking, no analytics SDKs, no selling or sharing of data with anyone.
- Location is used only while you're searching or viewing the map, only with your permission, and never in the background.
- Store owners see aggregates about their own store only. They never see who searched or who scouted.
Where it lives, and deleting it
Data is stored with Supabase in the United States. Email is sent through Resend. You can delete your account and everything tied to it
from Settings in the app; sightings you logged stay, with their link to you removed, because other shoppers rely on them.
